University Hospital campus in the South Texas Medical Center expanded its campus to a 1.1-million SF area, 14-story, 713-bed facility. The new trauma tower with an expanded emergency center and surgical capacity was built beneath new inpatient rooms. It is also recognized by U.S. News & World Report, regarded as one of America’s Best Hospitals and has won the hospital district’s second LEED Gold certification for energy efficiency.
