Built in 1952 with 12 classrooms, Daugherty Elementary School is the second-oldest school in the Garland district. When construction started in 2013, Daugherty ES became the first two-story elementary school for Garland ISD which was constructed on the same site in place of the existing facility allowing a capacity increase from 400 to 800 students.
Dri-Design Metal Plate System was used to create the dynamic effect on the entrance of the school with a kynar finish in Bright Red, Brick Red, and Burgandy. The soffit panels were painted in a kynar silver to create a contrast.
