An addition to Merriman Holt Powell Architects original building, Phase 2 is designed to create an iconic new image for the library to the Missouri City community. The three-story building contains reading areas, study rooms, and a computer lab. The 27-year-old library started construction to add a 9,600-square-foot addition that would include additional space for meetings, study and computers. At 28,062 square feet, the Missouri City branch will be the fifth-largest library in the county.

The design team selected CENTRIA’s Intercept Entrye panels because they provide a smooth, unbroken appearance adding to the sleek style of the exterior design. The EcoScreen Perforated Screenwall helps to control light, provide ventilation and serve as a safety component without sacrificing the aesthetics on the building. EcoScreen is a unique fabrication that provides a 10 to 40% open area, creating the effect of a translucent screen.
